ALLEGANY, N.Y. — The first annual Margaret A. Kenney Memorial Euchre tournament will be held on Saturday at the Allegany American Legion, 4350 Route 417 West in Allegany.
The tournament is a joint effort between The Olean, NY, Lions Club and Hamilton Court #2, Order of the Amaranth. Registration starts at 11 a.m. and play begins at noon. A donation of $10 will be accepted at the door. Proceeds will benefit Diabetes Research.
Kenney, for whom the tournament is named, was a dedicated member of both organizations. She spent her life doing for others. The Order of the Amaranth have been raising money for Diabetes Research for 40 years; in 2019, the Lions Club International joined the fight to raise funds for the cause.
The hope is for 100 players to participate in the tournament. Door prizes will be awarded and lunch will be served for all players.
