WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson, R-Pa. voted in favor of H.R. 4378, a short-term appropriations bill known as a continuing resolution, which will fund government operations at Fiscal Year 2019 levels beyond the beginning of Fiscal Year 2020 (October 1, 2019) and for seven weeks, through November 21, 2019.
The CR passed the House this afternoon with a vote of 301-123. Upon passage of H.R. 4378, Congressman Thompson issued the following statement:
“While continuing resolutions are not an ideal way to govern, this bill will allow the House and Senate to avoid a costly government shutdown. Today’s measure retains funds for hard fought Republican positions on agriculture, national security, disaster response, and importantly extends all existing pro-life protections. I am hopeful today’s agreement will provide for a more cooperative process from the House Democrats moving forward, so we do not find ourselves in this same position seven weeks from now.”
