RIDGWAY — The name of a man killed in an accident Tuesday afternoon at Greentree Landfill in Fox Township has been released.
Gary Haupt, 56, of Penfield, died after he became pinned between a semi-trailer and garbage tipper at 3:02 p.m. Tuesday, according to Ridgway-based state police.
Elk County Coroner Michelle A. Muccio pronounced Haupt dead at the scene at 5:36 p.m., Muccio reported on Tuesday. She said the cause of death was blunt force crush injuries to his lower abdomen.
Police report they believe the incident to be accidental, but noted the investigation will continue.
