On Tuesday, a Bradford man was convicted of drug charges after a two-day trial in McKean County Court.
David R. Kelsey, 47, was found guilty of a charge of delivery of a controlled substance, a felony, and criminal use of a communication facility, a third-degree felony, reported District Attorney Stephanie Vettenburg-Shaffer.
“The defendant was charged by McKean County Drug Task Force Detective Michael Ward following his investigation into the unlawful delivery of a Schedule II narcotic in Bradford on January 17, 2018,” Shaffer explained.
At the time of his arrest, officials had indicated that Kelsey sold 20 Vicodin pills.
Shaffer prosecuted the case on behalf of the commonwealth, and St. Marys attorney Christopher Martini represented Kelsey. The trial was before President Judge John Pavlock.
Kelsey is scheduled to be sentenced on Oct. 24.
Another trial is pending for Kelsey in McKean County Court, this time for an alleged assault that court records indicate happened Nov. 28 in Bradford City. No trial date is set.
It is unclear if Kelsey wants a jury trial in a second pending case, in which he allegedly threatened the alleged assault victim in the waiting room at District Judge Dominic Cercone’s office on the date of the preliminary hearing, according to the criminal complaint.
