SMETHPORT — McKean County Master Gardener class is now accepting applications for its 2019 class to begin Oct. 3 at the Penn State Extension Office in Smethport.
Among the topics to be covered include plant diseases, basic botany, soil health and fertilizer management, composting, woody ornamentals, controlling pests safely, pruning ornamentals, vegetables, indoor plants, and native plants.
The Master Gardeners in McKean County do a number of things in the community, including pollinator gardens, educational programs for all ages, demonstration gardens, a question hotline, and plant sales. For more information, call the Extension office at 814-887-5613.
