ELDRED — Historian Jared Frederick will be presenting his latest book, “Dispatches of D-Day: A People’s History of the Normandy Invasion” on Saturday at the Eldred World War II Museum.
Using 1944 newspaper accounts and letters as its foundation, Frederick’s book takes a fresh look at the events and emotions of the invasion, providing moving portraits of the soldiers and civilians who experienced what General Dwight D. Eisenhower called “the great crusade.” Frederick will be signing copies of his book after his talk. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the program begins at 6 p.m.
