Port Allegany 3, Austin 2
PORT ALLEGANY — Port Allegany earned its first win of the year with a narrow 3-2 (26-24, 21-25, 25-16, 16-25, 15-12) victory over Austin on Monday night.
“It was a heartbreaker,” Austin coach Pam Terrette said of the loss, which drops the team to 0-3 in both NTL play and overall. “But we came to play tonight.”
Kylie Welsh recorded four kills and ten points for Austin, and Shaylynn Nichols added 15 service points. Taylor Brewer logged four kills and 12 points.
The win gives Port A a 1-2 overall record and a 1-1 mark in league play. No results were available for the Gators.
Austin hosts Cameron County Wednesday, and Port A visits Otto-Eldred.
Oswayo Valley 3, Coudersport 0
SHINGLEHOUSE — Oswayo Valley swept Coudersport 3-0 (25-20, 25-19, 25-23) to hand the Lady Falcons their first loss of the season Monday night.
Macy West posted six kills, seven blocks and two service points for the Lady Green Wave (3-0, 3-0), and Johanna Dickerson notched 10 points, 15 assists, six digs and an ace.
Jadyn Brabham contributed 10 kills, 10 points, an ace, six digs and two blocks, and Avaree Kellert chipped in nine kills, 10 points, three aces, six digs and three blocks.
For Coudersport (1-1, 1-1), Emma Saulter had a kill, an assist, two points and 32 digs, and Makayla Kavounas logged two points on two aces, three digs, three kills, three assists and a block. Addie Myers tacked on four kills, three assists and four blocks.
“It was just a great game tonight. The girls played hard,” OV coach Rachelle Kellogg said.
Coudersport hosts Galeton Wednesday, while OV goes to Galeton Thursday.
Otto-Eldred 3, Northern Potter 0
ULYSSES — Otto-Eldred improved to 2-1 in North Tier League play with a 3-0 (25-21, 25-18, 25-19) road sweep of Northern Potter.
Emmalee Sheeler doubled with 19 assists for the Lady Terrors (2-1, 2-1), and added 11 service points. Reilly Raught chipped in five kills and 10 service points, and Jade Spinney logged six aces, six digs and seven service points for O-E.
NoPo’s Savannah Herring led the Lady Panthers (1-3, 1-2) with 11 kills, and added an assist and a block. Courtney Martin had two aces, an assist, and a kill to go with her 14 digs, and Faith Zdrojewski had an ace, five assists, two digs and a pair of kills. Madison Hoopes added 13 digs, and one kill, one assist and one ace.
Northern Potter visits Smethport Wednesday, while Otto-Eldred takes on Port Allegany.
Galeton 3, Smethport 0
GALETON — Smethport’s search for its first win will continue following a 3-0 (25-8, 25-21, 25-12) loss to Galeton Monday.
The Lady Hubbers (0-3, 0-3) were led by Alexis Shall and Baylee Fitzsimmons. Shall posted three blocks, four kills and five digs, while Fitzsimmons added 12 digs and four assists.
Galeton improves to 2-1 in both the NTL and overall. No stats were available for the Lady Tigers.
Smethport hosts Northern Potter Wednesday, and Galeton is at Coudersport that day.
