KANE — Friends’ Memorial Public Library in Kane is offering a variety of activities to spark interest in new hobbies or refresh some that people already pursue.

At 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, an Artsy Pumpkin Tutorial will be presented by the Kane Garden Club.
A Senior Expo is also scheduled from 1 to 3 p.m. on Sept. 13 at the Kane Community Center. Library representatives will be on hand for that event to end the week.
Family history and research will be the topic at 6 p.m. Sept. 17. Participants can get guidance on doing research of their own families.
The library board, which is open to the public, will meet on Sept. 19.
The “Celebrating our Words” writers’ group plans to meet at 10:30 a.m. on Sept. 28. Everyone over the age of sixteen is invited to share writing, music or listen to others sharing.
