Juvenile facing charges after threats Potter County

COUDERSPORT — An unnamed 16 year-old male student is facing charges for making threats related to a school shooting to Austin Area School on Wednesday around 12 p.m. in Austin Borough, Potter County.

Coudersport-based state police report the incident was brought to their attention after a 911 hang-up call was received, which was initially assigned to the Coudersport Borough Police Department.

Police said they located the caller and conducted an investigation. The student was charged as a juvenile with terroristic threats, harassment and disorderly conduct and placed in Tioga County Shelter, pending court proceedings.

Police note there are no further threats relative to any Potter County School Districts and students should be able to attend school as scheduled.

Police responded to disorderly conduct on Interstate Parkway and a bicycle theft on East Main Street.
