A Duke Center woman was arraigned Thursday afternoon for allegedly making threats to her co-workers on Aug. 21.
Nancy Williams, 59, is charged with terroristic threats, a first-degree misdemeanor; harassment, a third-degree misdemeanor; and disorderly conduct, a summary offense.
According to the criminal complaint, Lewis Run-based state police were summoned to the Keystone Powdered Metal plant in Lewis Run at 3 p.m. Aug. 21, for an employee who allegedly made threatening statements to another. The complainant asked the trooper to return at a later time to speak to other witnesses and victims who had heard the threatening statements, which were allegedly made on Aug. 16.
A trooper returned Aug. 22 and spoke to multiple employees, who said that during an evening shift on Aug. 16, Williams made threatening statements. They told police that Williams said, “If I had a gun I would shoot every one of you backstabbing (expletive),” the complaint stated.
The witnesses said they felt as if the statements were made in relation to another person with the company having been demoted. Several of the employees told police that they feared for their safety, and one witness told police that Williams nearly struck another person while operating a forklift in the plant, the complaint stated.
Williams was arraigned before District Judge Rich Luther and released on $20,000 unsecured bail. She is scheduled to appear in Central Court on Sept. 12.
