Got junk?
The American Pickers may be looking for you.
Sarah Perkins, casting associate with Cineflex, reached out on Thursday to spread the word that Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz of the popular television show are planning to film in Pennsylvania in November, and are looking for leads.
“We love to tell the history of an area, especially if we can find someone who has a great story to tell about it,” Perkins explained. “If someone in your region has a great, large collection that connects to that history we would love to hear from them! We also don’t have any specific list of items we are looking for so we are totally willing to chat about Case Knives and Zippo Lighters or anything of the sort.”
The leads will depend on where the pickers go to film, she said, and encouraged people to reach out.
“If you or someone you know has a large, private collection or accumulation of antiques that the Pickers can spend the better part of the day looking through, send us your name, phone number, location and description of the collection with photos to: americanpickers@cineflix.com or call 855-OLD-RUST. facebook: @GotAPick
“So, hopefully there is someone in your area who will have a great collection for us and we will come picking in your backyard!” Perkins said.
American Pickers is a documentary series that explores the fascinating world of antique “picking” on History. The hit show follows Wolfe and Fritz, two of the most skilled pickers in the business, as they hunt for America’s most valuable antiques. They are always excited to find sizeable, unique collections and learn the interesting stories behind them.
As they hit the back roads from coast to coast, Mike and Frank are on a mission to recycle and rescue forgotten relics. Along the way, the Pickers want to meet characters with remarkable and exceptional items. The pair hopes to give historically significant objects a new lease on life, while learning a thing or two about America’s past along the way.
