LITTLE VALLEY, N.Y. — The Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Department has issued a warning to its residents about scam artists reportedly calling from a Boston, N.Y., phone number that shows on caller ID.
The scammer states that he or she is with Olean General Hospital and they are updating their records. They request personal information including Social Security numbers, bank routing numbers and similar information. Do not release any information and do not return calls to this number.
If such a call is received, residents are urged to contact the police.
