FRANKLIN — A late arrival to Franklin High School due to bus issues didn’t faze the Lady Owls as Bradford rolled to a 7-0 victory Tuesday over the Knights.
Bradford (2-0) struck for four goals in the opening 15 minutes, started by a tally from Emily Prince four minutes in.
Maddi Cowburn scored next before Regan Johnson went to work, netting three goals before halftime.
“The younger players were able to get a lot of valuable minutes in both halves,” Bradford coach Warren Shaw said. “The veterans are really moving well without the ball and pressuring together.”
Shaw credits Chloe Shaw, Olivia Coles, Marissa Miller, Liz Miller and Prince with assists in the first half.
Marissa Miller scored Bradford’s final goal of the game eight minutes into the second half on a “gorgeous move,” according to Shaw.
The Lady Owls have won each of their first two games by 7-0 decisions.
“Our back line of Emily Bosworth, Lauren Placer, Taylor Komidar, Abbie Nuzzo, Mackenzie Lucas and Liz Miller continue to play smart and are beginning to communicate and know where each other is at,” Shaw said.
Lucas picked up four saves in net, while Alexis Reynolds had two.
Bradford returns home Thursday for a non-league contest against Port Allegany.
