A Bradford man was jailed early Friday morning after allegedly threatening to kill his parents.
David Rivera, 29, of 55 Bank St., is charged with terroristic threats, a first-degree misdemeanor; simple assault, a second-degree misdemeanor; and disorderly conduct and harassment, summary offenses.
According to the criminal complaint, at 10:17 p.m. Thursday, Bradford City Police were dispatched to a call of a domestic dispute at Rivera’s residence. When police arrived, they were told Rivera “went crazy” and started smashing things in the house.
The victim was trying to leave the house when Rivera slammed the front door on the victim’s hand and wrist, causing bruising and swelling, the complaint alleged.
Neighbors heard yelling and screaming, and Rivera’s father asked them to call 9-1-1. The neighbors also heard Rivera threaten to “slit the throats” of his parents, the complaint alleged.
Rivera was arraigned early Friday morning before District Judge Rich Luther and remanded to jail in lieu of $20,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in Central Court on Sept. 5.
