JAMESTOWN, N.Y. – The Audubon Community Nature Center (ACNC) is holding two orientations to present general information about volunteering, along with current and upcoming volunteer needs.
Participants are invited to participate from 10 a.m. to noon on Sept. 10, or Sept. 14.
Opportunities exist inside and outside, in all departments, with tasks of varying skill levels in buildings and grounds, office work, reception desk, working with children, education for adults, outreach, and more.
Questions about the orientation session can be directed to volunteer coordinator Jennifer Schlick at (716) 569-2345 or by email at jschlick@auduboncnc.org.
The tour will include indoor and outdoor spaces, so participants are encouraged to dress accordingly. Participants are invited to bring a lunch to enjoy after the session in a setting with other participants, allowing a chance for more conversation. Coffee and tea will be provided.
Information and skills learned in this training are also useful in other Audubon volunteer positions.
This opportunity is free, but please register by Sept. 8 for the Sept. 10 session or by Sept. 10 for the Sept. 14 session. To register, call (716) 569-2345 during business hours or go to auduboncnc.org/programs and click on “Current Schedule.”
Audubon Community Nature Center is located at 1600 Riverside Road, one-quarter mile east of Route 62 between Jamestown, N.Y., and Warren. T
