Twisted Wine Beverage Co. has grown very quickly in the past seven years.
David Plants started Twisted Vine Winery in 2012 with six types of wine, which he sold for two years from his front porch in a rural area outside Kane.
When he outgrew the porch, he built a building near his home. Winery operations took place there for three years.
According to Plants, the business eventually outgrew that space, so he bought a 15,000 square foot building in downtown Kane — the 117 Fraley St. location that still houses not only the winery operations, but also a new brewery, distillery and full-service restaurant. At the new establishment, Plants makes nearly 30 types of wine, 16 different beers, vodka, rums, whiskeys and gins.
This business, Plants said, is the first winery, brewery and distillery under one roof, under one ownership in the region.
With a menu that includes pastas, steaks and other upscale dinner entrees, along with salads and a unique burger list, visitors can find a meal to pair with their beverage of choice.
Daily specials in the restaurant include Taco Tuesday, prime rib dinner Thursdays, fish fries on Fridays, and seafood specials over the weekend. Drink specials are offered every day.
Anyone who likes live entertainment will be happy to note the Kane business has hosted several local musicians since it opened.
Twisted Wine Beverage Co. has 13 locations total between Erie and Pittsburgh, along with a second full-service restaurant in Kissimmee, Fla. All the locations use products made locally right in Kane.
