The boys up front have long been the hallmark of Randolph’s football success.
This fall, as one former star Cardinals lineman completes his NCAA career, another is just beginning his time in the college ranks.
Senior Wes Senn is poised for a strong finish at Alfred University, where he’s a captain for the second straight season.
At Mercyhurst, 2018 Big 30 Lineman of the Year Andrew Bernard is a freshman for the Division II Lakers. He was the fourth Randolph product to be named the area’s top high school lineman in the last nine years.
The 6-foot-2, 270-pound Senn played for the Cardinals during their run of three straight state championships from 2012 to 2014. Last year, he started every game at center for Alfred, earning second-team All-Empire 8 honors and paving the way for the conference’s second-best rushing attack.
In addition, Senn received Alfred’s Hal Brown Award, presented to the team’s most valuable player on the offensive side of the ball.
Senn is among five Big 30 alumni listed on the Saxons’ 2019 roster. The others are Franklinville/Ellicottville’s Caleb Rinko, Pioneer’s Jason Gauthier and Lane Patton, and Olean’s Alex Weakfall.
