SMETHPORT — During a brief meeting Tuesday, the McKean County commissioners approved a planned maintenance agreement with Penn Power Systems for the county’s emergency generators for $2,665 for fiscal year 2019-20.
Under the terms of this contract, Penn Power Systems of Cranberry Township agrees to perform regularly scheduled maintenance and inspections of the county’s 911 generators, but adjustments, calculations and repairs are to be made at an additional fee and after customer approval and a firm purchase order is issued.
In another vote, Commissioners Carol Duffy, who conducted the meeting, and Thomas Kreiner — Commissioner Cliff Lane was attending a conservation district meeting — approved a lease agreement with STP Properties Management for Magisterial District Judge David R. Engman’s office in Kane at $2,000 per month to include utilities, cleaning and building maintenance, snowplowing and door and lock repairs for five years, with a $50 monthly increase in years four and five.
Also gaining the commissioners’ OK was the County Aid application from Annin Township for $5,772, which will be encumbered.
Commissioners adopted the 2020 courthouse operating schedule, which lists the following holidays: New Year’s , Jan. 1; Martin Luther King Day, Jan. 20; Presidents’ Day, Feb. 17; Good Friday, April 10; Memorial Day, May 25; and Independence Day, July 3. Labor Day, Sept. 7; Election Day, Nov. 3; Veterans Day, Nov. 11; Thanksgiving, Nov. 26 & 27; and Christmas, Dec. 24 & 25.
The employees’ birthdays are also considered holidays.
