Nine of 11 counts against Port A man bound to court
Nine of the 11 charges filed against a Port Allegany man accused of making rude or threatening statements to several people in the borough have been bound to McKean County Court.
Two of the charges against Andrew R. Goodwill, 46, were withdrawn: stalking and recklessly endangering another person, court records indicate.
Meanwhile, at a preliminary hearing held Monday before District Judge William Todd, the following charges were bound to court: terroristic threats, a first-degree misdemeanor; harassment and disorderly conduct, third-degree misdemeanors; and two counts of harassment and four counts of disorderly conduct, summary charges.
According to the criminal complaint, between July 12 and 16, Goodwill made harassing statements over the phone and in person to several people in Port Allegany. On July 15, Port Allegany Police received separate complaints against Goodwill from borough staff, ambulance service staff and the borough mayor.
This includes alleged statements made to police, in person in the borough office, to an off-duty paramedic, to staff at the ambulance service both in person and on the phone and messages on the Port Allegany mayor’s answering machine, the complaint indicated.
Court records did not indicate Goodwill’s motive.
Goodwill is free on $2,000 unsecured bail.
