BRADFORD, Pa. — A Bradford man accused of terroristic threats and drug-related allegations is in McKean County Jail without bail on charges in two cases.
Walter J. Gutshall Jr., 37, was arraigned Thursday afternoon before District Judge Dominic Cercone. Gutshall was denied bail, as “no set of conditions can protect the public,” the online court dockets for the cases state.
In one case, which records indicate happened Monday in Bradford City, Gutshall is charged with terroristic threats, endangering the welfare of children and simple assault, first-degree misdemeanors; and false imprisonment, a second-degree misdemeanor.
In the other case, which allegedly occurred Wednesday in Bradford City, he is charged with possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance, a felony; terroristic threats, a first-degree misdemeanor; false imprisonment, a second-degree misdemeanor; possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, misdemeanors; and summary harassment.
Bradford City Police filed both cases.
No further information on the allegations was available as of press time Friday.
Gutshall is scheduled to appear in Central Court for both new cases on Thursday.
He has two other pending cases in McKean County, too: an endangering case and a criminal mischief case.
The criminal complaint filed in the endangering case indicates that on Nov. 28, Gutshall smoked marijuana in front of a 3-year-old child, then the child was left in Gutshall’s care for a couple of hours while the mother ran an errand; The child got out of the apartment while Gutshall slept and was found in the downstairs foyer with a neighbor. Gutshall has asked for a jury trial in the case.
A last-day-to-plea conference in the criminal mischief case is scheduled for Sept. 19.
