Thursday kicked off the 40th annual Old Time Country Fair & Music Festival at Crook Farm.
At roughly 8 p.m., musicians formed a circle and music enthusiasts grabbed seats for a live “acoustic country jam.” The Crook Farm All-Stars band hosted the jam session as all musicians were welcome to take part. During the session, musicians played classic country, bluegrass and folk songs.
A round/square/contra dance and music jam will take place from roughly 7:30 to 11 p.m. today.
On Saturday, the 40th annual festival begins in earnest, as numerous craft and food vendors, historical displays and demonstrations will fill the Crook Farm homestead, located at 476 Seaward Ave.
The country fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Admission is $5 per person or free for children under 12. The event serves as the biggest fundraiser for the Bradford Landmark Society.
It is a special year for the Landmark Society, as it is celebrating its 50th anniversary.
Various music artists are set to perform throughout the festival including, on Saturday, the Lackawanna Longnecks, the WNY Fiddle Kids, Brett Howland, the Fair to Fiddlin’ Strings Band, Tamsula, Withers and Krysty; and The Band Anastazja.
Those performing on Sunday include Down the Road, Triple Fret, The Front Porch Rockers, Keep of the Grass, Coyote Moon Duo and Blue Mule Bluegrass.
