With the recent mass shootings happening in the United States, local churches felt it was time to present a positive message to local youth and college age students by bringing some light into an ever-darkening world.
In order to do that, the members of the First Wesleyan Church of Bradford and the Sawyer Evangelical Church have teamed up to host the Limitless Youth Rally today at the large pavilion at Callahan Park, 82 Poplin Ave. A music concert is scheduled to get underway at 5 p.m. today with a pre-rally gathering set for 4 p.m.
The Limitless Youth Rally will feature the up-and-coming alternative Christian rock band Winona Avenue. The indie rock duo is made up of brothers Daniel and David Deputy. They are currently touring Pennsylvania and New York.
Since the beginning of 2019, the brothers have released three songs including “Move this Town,” “Paradise” and “Days of our Lives.” Their fourth single, “Dancing in the Pouring Rain,” has recently dropped and can be heard on YouTube and Spotify.
Also appearing at the Limitless Youth Rally will be new singer/songwriter Jeff Brown from Lake Charles, La., and writer Natalie Esarey from Indianapolis, Ind.
Natalie Esarey will be sharing her testimony between the bands performances. Esarey has dealt with eating disorders, addiction, depression and anxiety but was able to overcome her problems through her faith in Jesus Christ. Organizers say her message is a powerful one for the youth of the community, especially young girls.
Anyone who would like to learn more about the Limitless Youth Rally is asked to contact Pastor Terri Niver at the First Wesleyan Church of Bradford at 814-368-7865. The Limitless Youth Rally is free and open to the public.
