This year, the United Way of the Bradford Area is challenging the local community to “Invest In Your Community,” with the annual fundraising effort to be led by Christy Graham.
Graham, branch manager at Northwest Bank, said, “I am honored to lead all of the campaigns this year, and have a great team to work with.”
The campaign cabinet includes Toni Frisina, Kendra Pantuso and Jennifer Fitton.
“The United Way is such an important origination in our communities, always there to help with funding for needed programs. Without the funding from United Way, many of these programs would not be able to continue. We are very fortunate to have the United Way to fill in so many gaps throughout our communities.”
This year’s monetary goals will be announced at the annual kick-off event, the Pig Roast and Clam Bake — goals have been altered this year after carefully considering each campaign’s prior years donor contributions, and agency officials are confident the agency will have the support from our communities to attain them.
Staff, board and campaign volunteers recognize that while the goals are high, there will be success. The programs and services that are supported by the United Way of the Bradford Area are vital to the communities, and as neighbors, officials ask the public to join efforts in supporting the campaigns. All funds raised during the annual United Way campaigns benefit local non-profit health and human service organizations serving Bradford, Smethport and Port Allegany.
The campaign is up and running as of today, and will continue through Dec. 15, according to Paige LaBrozzi, executive director of the agency.
“Being new to the role, this will be my first campaign start to finish. I am excited about the individuals I am working with and the communities’ support — We are determined and I can only see success. My vision for the United Way when taking the role was to build our donor base and maintaining the relationships with our longtime supporters — and that is still my vision.”
The local office is also encouraging the community to make their reservations for the 21st annual Pig Roast & Clam Bake (presented by Northwest Bank), which is scheduled for Sept. 5 at the Bradford Township Lions Club.
Advanced reservations are $35 per person (walk-ins will be $40 per person, if there are remaining tickets), and include a buffet dinner, desserts and beverages. Those wishing to attend can reserve their tickets by calling the office at 814-368-6181.
