A communitywide celebration is set for 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Bradford Ecumenical Home Inc. to mark its 30th anniversary.

A chicken barbecue, car show and an art exhibit will be part of the activities. The exhibit will showcase artwork of the residents of the facility.

“It will be a time of reflection, food, fellowship and a glimpse into (BEH’s) future,” a release from the organization indicated.

It also gave some background on how the facility came to be.

“As a result of a devastating fire at the Dresser Memorial Presbyterian Home and the building deterioration of the Hannum Memorial Rest Home, Bradford Ecumenical Home Inc. opened its doors on August 5, 1989,” a release from BEH stated. “At that time, the executive board and community leaders had a vision to provide quality services to seniors in Bradford and surrounding communities. Thirty years later, they still maintain that same vision and have seen their campus expand with the addition of personal care, Alzheimer’s care and independent living.”

The celebration will be at 100 St. Francis Drive, the Continuing Care Community Campus. In addition to the Ecumenical Home, the campus includes Chapel Ridge, Our House and Creekside Suites.

A Bradford Area Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours event will be hosted at the campus at the same time as the festivities.

The Ecumenical Home is a 100-bed skilled nursing facility, with 24-hour comprehensive care. Chapel Ridge is a personal care home, with apartments for senior living, with family meals in a restaurant-style dining room with personalized service.

Our House is a restorative nursing program to meet the challenging needs of the Alzheimer’s or dementia patient. Creekside Suites offers independent living with as much or as little support from staff within the campus.
