ALLEGANY, N.Y. — On Sept. 28, the Olean Lions Club and Hamilton Court #2, Order of the Amaranth, will jointly host the inaugural Margaret A. Kenney Memorial Euchre Tournament to Fight Diabetes.
This is the first joint fundraiser for the two organizations.
The tournament will be held at noon on Sept. 28 at the Allegany American Legion Post 892, 4350 State Road West, Allegany. Registration will begin at 11 a.m.
Kenney was a highly decorated and long serving member of both organizations who spent a good part of her life raising money for those in need. She was especially valiant in her efforts to raise funds for diabetes research.
Every dime raised at this tournament will be donated directly to that research.
All euchre players are invited to participate for a donation of $10. Lunch and door prizes will be provided for all players, plus there will be additional cash prizes and raffles. Up to 100 players will be able to take part.
To reserve a space, call tournament chairman Bruce Kenney at 716-307-1001 during the day or 716-560-5883 during the evening. Other contacts are Charles or Sharon Talbot at 716-945-2122 or Elizabeth Jankowski at 716-307-6074.
Anyone who wants to give a door prize or cash donation can contact the above, too. The Amaranth Diabetes Foundation is a 501©(3) charity.
