Those attending the Festa Italiana in Bradford or Swedish Festival in Mount Jewett should not have to worry about Mother Nature raining on their parade this year, according to information received from the National Weather Service.
The worst of the severe storms were expected to be done with on Thursday evening. With the exception of a few light showers Friday morning and throughout the afternoon, the skies are expected to clear up, giving the sun a chance to shine.
Temperatures will cool down for the weekend, with breezy weather and expected highs in the 70s and lows in the upper 40s to mid-50s.
The Festa Italiana continues throughout the weekend, with events from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. today and more fun from 1 p.m. to 1 a.m. Saturday. Those prepared to enjoy the fireworks at the Festa Italiana on Saturday at 10 p.m. can expect a partly cloudy sky, cool breeze, and a low of 49 degrees.
The Mount Jewett Swedish Festival kicks off with an opening ceremony at 6 p.m. today featuring the crowning of the Swedish Festival Royalty, along with numerous other activities and amusement rides scheduled throughout the weekend. Those heading out for the festivities can leave their umbrellas at home.
As summer winds down and the children go back to school, the area can continue to expect mild conditions with highs in the upper 70s and low 80s and drier than average conditions, according to the weather service.
