AUSTIN — This week Sinnemahoning State Park is offering three different ways to enjoy the George B. Stevenson reservoir, with fishing, kayaking and pontoon boat tours, plus a Saturday evening program featuring live rattlesnakes.
• Fishing skills on the Lake from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday will help participants brush up on their fishing skills aboard the pontoon boat while learning about various fish habitats of the lake. No license is required and tackle and bait will be provided. Group size limited. Pre-registration required by today, Aug. 7. Lake Day Use Area.
• Kayak games, from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday. Participants can learn basic water safety and paddling techniques while enjoying games and activities to improve kayak skills. All equipment provided. Ages 12 through adult, swimmers only. Group size limited. Pre-registration required by Friday. Lake Day Use Area
• Pontoon boat tours, 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. and noon to 1:15 p.m. Sunday. Relaxing and informative one-hour tour of the Stevenson Reservoir. Free program, but donations are requested and reservations are recommended. Lake Day Use Area.
