PITTSBURGH — The average price of gasoline across Western Pennsylvania is three cents cheaper this week at $2.924 per gallon, according to AAA East Central’s Gas Price Report.
Gas prices are as much as three cents cheaper on the week for motorists through most of the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast region. Statewide, the average price of gasoline across Pennsylvania is $2.87.
The Energy Information Administration (EIA) reports gasoline inventory held on the week at 59 million barrels, while regional refinery utilization fell a percentage point to 76%. Analysts anticipate that imports will help increase gasoline stocks in the region this month, which could help keep gas prices stable.
The average price of unleaded self-serve gasoline in Bradford is $2.996; in Brookville, $3.049; in DuBois, $2.796; in Erie, $2.984; and in Warren, $2.999.
Today’s national average price for gas is $2.71, which is two cents cheaper than last week, four cents cheaper than last month, and fifteen cents cheaper than this time last year. Prices are cheaper as demand dipped slightly, even though overall demand remains robust. Decreasing prices have become the norm over the past few weeks in America, and barring any outlying factors, this trend may continue throughout the month.
