KANE — Community members are invited to join several agencies from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday for a National Night Out event at the Kane Fire Hall, 50 Poplar St., Kane.
Taking part in the evening’s activities are the Kane Police Department, the Pennsylvania State Police, the McKean County Sheriff’s Department, the Kane Volunteer Fire Department, the Office of the District Attorney, the McKean County Drug Task Force and Kane VFW Post 1132.
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live.
During this free family friendly event, attendees will have the opportunity to meet and speak with local law enforcement personnel and local fire department volunteers. Police cars and firetrucks will be on hand for viewing, as will specialized equipment and informational materials. Additionally, members of the VFW will be there to discuss the nation’s armed services.
The Kane Volunteer Fire Department will have hot dogs available and the Kane Lions Club will have cotton candy and snow cones available. There will also be DJ services from All in the Family Entertainment, balloon animals and face painting.
This event is held nationwide, with over 38 million people from approximately 16,000 communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories and military bases worldwide participating. It is nationally sponsored by A&W Root Beer, AT&T, Ring, Academy Sports & Outdoor, Associa, and Renewal by Andersen.
