Bradford dentist Dr. Kurt J. Laemmer Jr. recently earned the 2019 Lifelong Learning and Service Recognition honor for his commitment to lifelong learning, volunteering his services to communities in need, mentoring associates and new dentists, and participating in organized dentistry.
Laemmer was presented the recognition during the Academy of General Dentistry’s (AGD) 2019 scientific session held in Connecticut. The academy is a professional association of more than 40,000 general dentists who are dedicated to professional excellence through the pursuit of continuing education.
The recognition is presented only to AGD members who have gone above and beyond earning the association’s highest honor of mastership. To accomplish this recognition, Laemmer completed at least 1,600 hours of continuing dental education in 16 different dental disciplines. In addition, recipients most complete at least 100 hours of dental-related community/volunteer service.
“Recipients of AGD’s Lifelong Learning and Service Recognition truly exemplify leadership and embrace the AGD’s core principles and ideals,” said AGD President Neil J. Gajjar. “For Dr. Laemmer, this award symbolizes lifelong learning, leadership, mentorship and the drive for excellence in dentistry.”
Laemmer graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine in June of 1990 and currently practices dentistry in Bradford, with another office in Smethport. He has two children.
In addition to AGD, Laemmer is a member of the American Dental Association, Pennsylvania Dental Association, is a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, and is a member of the American College of Dentists.
Since its inception in 2005, only 368 of the AGD’s 40,000-plus members have received the prestigious Lifelong Learning and Service Recognition.
