COUDERSPORT — Three Coudersport residents face drug charges related to incidents on July 25 in Potter County and Monday in McKean County.
According to Coudersport-based state police, a call for trespass in Shinglehouse on July 25 led to a search for a suspect at 308 South Main St. in Coudersport. Police said that, upon arrival at the Coudersport residence, drug activity indicators were observed. Police obtained a search warrant for the residence, and completed a search with the assistance of Coudersport Borough Police. During the search, police said that LSD, methamphetamine, marijuana, hallucinogenic mushrooms, numerous unlabeled bottles and paraphernalia items were discovered. Also, police said a growth operation of hallucinogenic mushrooms was discovered inside the residence.
As a result of these discoveries, Kacie Butler, 28; Ellis Ott, 32, and Jeffrey Baumgratz, 52, all of Coudersport, were charged.
Butler was charged with one count of conspiracy, one count of possession with intent to deliver, one count of possession of a small amount of marijuana, one count of manufacturing, four counts of possession of a controlled substance and four counts of paraphernalia.
Ott was charged with one count of conspiracy, one count of possession with intent to deliver, one count of manufacturing, four counts of possession of a controlled substance and four counts of paraphernalia.
Baumgratz faces charges of one count of conspiracy, one count of manufacturing, one count of possession of a small amount of marijuana, one count of possession of a controlled substance and one count of paraphernalia.
State police reports indicate that Butler and Ott, both of Coudersport, were located in McKean County on Monday as they were making plans to leave town. When state troopers, Port Allegany Police Department and Smethport Police Department attempted to make contact, the two individuals fled on Route 155, traveling north.
Police said a high-speed chase occurred, beginning in Port Allegany borough and leading to Slack Hollow Road just outside Eldred borough. The chase continued to the end of the dead end road, at which point both individuals fled the vehicle on foot. Police report that both were arrested immediately. Upon searching the vehicle, police found additional drugs. Charges related to the pursuit and drugs found in the vehicle were filed in McKean County.
According to Magisterial District Court records, Baumgratz had bail set at $25,000 unsecured and is awaiting his preliminary hearing, set for 12 p.m. on Aug. 12 in front of Magisterial District Judge Annette Easton.
Meanwhile, Ott and Butler both have been remanded to Potter County Jail. Butler was unable to post bail, which was set at $100,000, while Ott was denied bail.
Butler has a preliminary hearing set for 12:30 p.m. Aug. 12 in front of Easton, while Ott’s hearing is set at 1 p.m.
