KANE — July is almost ending, with August signaling the closing days of summer vacations, but Friends’ Memorial Public Library in Kane is in full swing with fun things to do.
Upcoming activities include the summer reading program, Business After Hours and a program on family research.
The summer reading program will happen from 1 to 3 p.m. July 27, and Aug. 3, 10 and 17. Business After Hours will be held on July 30.
In August, Sue Shick of Ridgway will present a program helping participants get to know their families. She will provide information on family research beginning at 6 p.m. on Aug. 6.
The library is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays. The library is free and offers a wide variety of services including book borrowing, magazines and DVDs available for borrowing for two week periods, free Wi-Fi, access to computers and copying services, daily newspapers, and, to escape the summer heat, air conditioned comfort. For children, the library has a wide variety of children’s books available for borrowing in the children’s room, where children can play games and read.
