LEWIS RUN — A Rixford pair are facing charges from Lewis Run-based state police after an intentional car crash Tuesday in Otto Township.
Police were dispatched to a two-vehicle crash at 6:56 p.m. Tuesday in front of 1026 Looker Mountain Trail. While troopers were enroute to the crash, they were informed one of the vehicles had left the scene. When troopers reached the scene, the second vehicle was gone as well.
Troopers located Danielle Rhodes, 33, at her residence, about a quarter mile from the crash site. Upon further investigating, troopers learned that Rhodes and John-Jay Rhodes had been involved in an altercation earlier in the day. Danielle Rhodes had been observed driving erratically, and drove her vehicle into the oncoming lane of traffic and struck a vehicle driven by John-Jay Rhodes, 37.
Police said the crash threw John-Jay Rhodes into the windshield hard enough that it cracked.
Danielle Rhodes was taken into custody and charged with recklessly endangering another person and charges relating to a hit-and-run crash.
John-Jay Rhodes fled from the scene and charges are pending against him as well, police said.
