The First Wesleyan Church’s annual Kids Fun Day is scheduled for 1 to 3 p.m. this Saturday at the Jack Burns Memorial Park on North Kendall Avenue.
As in years past, children will be able to take part in numerous games, including water games. There will also be a cookie decorating station for children to design their own treats. Hot dogs and chips will also be provided, plus other tasty treats and candy.
A unique group of animals will once again be making an appearance at Kids Fun Day, as the First Wesleyan Church will bring in a petting zoo. Children will also be able to ride a horse or a pony.
The First Wesleyan Church has been putting on Kids Fun Day for many years as a way for children and their parents to have fun together. The event is free and open to the public.
While at Kids Fun Day, parents can sign up their children for “Truerassic Park,” the First Wesleyan Church’s Vacation Bible School program. The program runs from July 22 to July 26 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the First Wesleyan Church, located at 692 S. Kendall Ave.
The members of the Wesleyan church have turned their sanctuary into a prehistoric world with an 8-foot special effect volcano. Children attending the “Truerassic Park” program will be able to take part in skits, listen to music and create specialty themed crafts, all while learning about the different views of creation. Snacks will be provided each night during the weeklong “Truerassic Park” event.
