A Reynoldsville man was arraigned Monday night before District Judge William Todd for allegations he threatened a witness after a preliminary hearing.
Christopher L. Calhoun, 58, is charged with retaliation against a witness or victim, a third-degree felony.
According to the criminal complaint, after a preliminary hearing on June 17 at District Judge David Engman’s Kane office, Calhoun was standing on the sidewalk in front of the office.
As the witness in the case the hearing was for walked in Calhoun’s direction, he said to her, “I will get you,” the complaint stated. He then followed her to her vehicle, which was not in the vicinity of his own vehicle.
“I believe this act may have been an attempt to intimidate” the witness, said the state trooper who wrote the complaint. The trooper was also present at the hearing.
Court records show that Calhoun had a preliminary hearing on June 17 before Engman for a criminal case against him in which he is charged with DUI-controlled substance and several summary charges.
In the intimidation case, Calhoun is incarcerated in McKean County Jail in lieu of $20,000 bail, and he is scheduled to appear in Central Court on July 18.
