Independence Day celebrations are set throughout the region this weekend.
Today from 9:30 to 10:30 p.m., the Seneca Allegany Casino will hold a fireworks display, with a rain date of Sunday.
Austin, Emporium and Galeton all will hold fireworks on Saturday.
The Emporium fireworks will cap off the Weekend in the Wilds celebration, set for today and Saturday in Emporium. The fireworks will be held at dusk at the Cameron County High School football field.
It’s the 35th annual Goodyear Hose Company’s Red Suspender Weekend in Galeton today and Saturday. The 2019 Independence Day parade will begin at 11 a.m., leaving from the school grounds and traveling on Germania Street, Union Street and West Street.
Firemen’s water battles, food, crafts, vendors and rides will begin at noon.
Parade trophies will be awarded at 1 p.m. at the park pavilion.
Performances by Downbeat Percussion and the Caledonian Highlanders Pipe Band will begin at 1 p.m. in the park pavilion as well, and live music will last all day.
The fireworks display will kick off at 10 p.m.
The Austin Pride Committee is hosting the annual Austin Area Fireworks Display at the Austin Area Jr./Sr. High school on Saturday to celebrate Independence Day. Vendors and concessions will be onsite and open at 5 p.m. Fireworks will begin at dark.
