A Bradford man was jailed after allegedly leading police on a foot chase in Foster Township.
Scott A. Canfield Jr., 36, is in McKean County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail. He was arraigned Thursday evening before District Judge Richard Luther on charges of flight to avoid apprehension, a third-degree felony, and false identification to law enforcement officer, a third-degree misdemeanor, court records indicate.
Reports from the scanner indicate that Canfield led police from multiple departments on a chase that ended up off East Main Street in the area around Tuna Cross Road and State Line Supply Co. Reports indicated he was wanted on a warrant out of Erie County.
According to court records, Canfield is still under supervision after he was convicted of retail theft and possession of an instrument of crime in Erie County. He pleaded guilty to the charges and on Jan. 11 he was sentenced to six months to one year of confinement and three years of probation.
Canfield is scheduled to appear in Central Court on Thursday.
The Foster Township Police Department, which filed the charges, was not available for comment by press time Thursday.
