SMETHPORT — PA CleanWays of McKean County will hold a tire recycling event from 8 a.m. to noon on July 20 at the Smethport Borough shed on U.S. Route 6.

There is a $1.50 fee per tire collection. It is for car and light truck tires on or off the rim. Tires from commercial operations will not be accepted.

The fees collected will be used to help finance the collection.

Tire collections are costly and preregistration is required to help control/predict the costs. Cash or checks will be accepted. Make checks payable to Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful. To register, call the McKean County Penn State Extension Office at 814-887-5613.
