TRAIL: The Pennsylvania Great Outdoors Visitors Bureau has announced its new Wine, Beer, and Shine Tasting Trail is now available, just in time for the busy summer travel season.
The Wine, Beer, and Shine Tasting Trail brochure highlights 15 wineries, six distilleries, and two breweries within the five counties of the Pennsylvania Great Outdoors region with descriptions for each location and convenient driving map.
The Pennsylvania Great Outdoors Visitors Bureau is a membership-based travel promotion organization serving five counties in northwestern Pennsylvania: Jefferson, Elk, Clarion, Forest, and Cameron.
The mission of the Pennsylvania Great Outdoors Visitors Bureau is to develop and initiate programs and marketing strategies with the specific intent of increasing overnight travel-related expenditures within its designated region and to create a cooperative effort to increase awareness of this region as an ultimate outdoor adventure vacation destination.
“The wine, beer, and spirits industries are booming in our region and they have grown into a valuable tourist attraction. Our new Wine, Beer, and Shine Tasting Trail guides visitors through the region to tantalize their taste buds with locally made and handcrafted libations, plus travelers can enjoy the scenic beauty of the region while visiting many local shops and restaurants along the way.” stated John Straitiff, executive director for Pennsylvania Great Outdoors Visitors Bureau.
Both a map and a brochure are available through the visitPA.com website.
Highlights of the trail include Bear Creek Wines, which opened in 2018, located in Kane and offering many wine varieties for sale; Wapiti Ridge Wine Cellars in DuBois, which offers an outdoor area and many local products to try; and Chicken Hill Distillery in Kersey, which specializes in flavored moonshine and clear moonshine. The Chicken Hill Distillery also offers outlets in Clarington, Knox and Benezette for interested visitors to check out at their convenience.
