SMETHPORT — A Rixford man was convicted by a McKean County jury of actions against a juvenile female in 2017.
Anthony J. Schoonover, 22, appeared for a trial Monday before President Judge John Pavlock at the McKean County Courthouse.
After a one-day trial, Schoonover was convicted of indecent assault (victim less than age 16) and corruption of minors, said McKean County District Attorney Stephanie Vettenburg-Shaffer.
“The charges stemmed from an investigation into the defendant’s actions against a juvenile female in Rixford in October, 2017,” Shaffer explained.
She said the Otto-Eldred Regional Police Chief Donald Nies investigated the case, and Assistant District Attorney Jerry Grill prosecuted the case on behalf of the commonwealth.
Public Defender Philip Clabaugh represented Schoonover.
Schoonover will be sentenced Sept. 26.
