The Friends of Allegheny Wilderness Trail Crew will do Hickory Creek Wilderness Trail stewardship July 27 and 28, and the public is invited to help.
The trail is located in the Tidioute area of the Allegheny National Forest.
The group will be clearing falling trees and limbs from around the trail loop. Contact FAW at info@pawild.org for more information or to sign up to help.
For all trail stewardship projects, the trail crew utilizes non-motorized hand tools only, such as axes, pruners and saws. No chainsaws or other power tools are ever allowed in designated wilderness areas like Hickory Creek, so no specialized training is needed in that regard.
