PHILADELPHIA — The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) announced Monday a reward of $8,000 for information leading to the identification and arrest of those responsible for several suspicious fires that have occurred in Northern Indiana County since August.

Several fires occurring in the county have been deemed suspicious or otherwise noted as incendiary. The most recent fire occurred at a barn on March 28 on Barnard Road in Dayton, Pa. With the exception of a fire at Harmony Grove Lutheran Church and the Amish Furniture store in West Mahoning Township, the fires were in unoccupied or abandoned barns and buildings/structures.

The list of suspicious fires are:

• Aug. 9, farmhouse/garage, Alabran Road, Smicksburg

• Dec. 15, barn, Wolf Road, Smicksburg

• Dec. 21, barn, Route 954, Creekside

• Dec. 29, garage/shed, Bailey Road, Washington Township

• Dec. 29, storage building, Whitaker and Rudolph Road, North Mahoning Township

• Jan. 25, Amish furniture store, Stephenson Road, West Mahoning Township, ruled incendiary by state police fire marshal

• Feb. 26, Harmony Grove Lutheran Church, 5 Points Road, Creekside, ruled incendiary by state police fire marshal

• March 20, brush fire, Getty and Pollock Roads, East Mahoning Township

• March 28, barn, Barnard Road, Dayton, ruled incendiary by state police fire marshal

The investigation is being conducted jointly by the ATF Pittsburgh Field Office of the Philadelphia Field Division and the state police fire marshal.
