Free programs and activities are being offered from June 14-16 at Cherry Springs and Lyman Run state parks.
At Lyman Run State Park, there will be a Father’s Day Breakfast and Kayak Tour at 9 a.m. June 16.
Visitors are invited to bring their dads for a breakfast at Lyman Run State Park, then enjoy a kayak tour of Lyman Lake. Preregistration closes three days before this event. To preregister visit http://bit.ly/2019FOLROutdoorFunandFood.
Lyman Run State Park (GPS address: 454 Lyman Run Road, Galeton, PA 16922) is 8.7 miles from U.S. Route 6 in Galeton via West Branch Road and Lyman Run Road.
At Cherry Springs State Park, there will be “Nature at Night” and “Full Moon Watch” programs held both June 14 and 15.
The Full Moon Watch will be held from 9:30 to 11 p.m. both days for free in the Night Sky Viewing Area. Join park staff to take a journey to the moon to explore some of its fascinating natural features from highlands to volcanic plains and to see where lunar landings took place. Afterwards, take an up close look at the moon using park telescopes.

Anyone attending the Full Moon Watch is invited to arrive early in the Night Sky Viewing Area and join staff from 8 to 8:45 p.m. either night for Nature at Night.
The free program on fascinating night critters, such as fireflies, bats, black bears, coyotes or others based on animal activity in the park.
Registration is not required for Nature or Night programs or to picnic in the park.
Anyone may observe the night sky at Cherry Springs on his or her own without attending a stargazing program. All visitors should arrive before dark.
Search for the Clear Sky Chart online for 48-hour forecasts about viewing conditions. Arrive early for a program, bring a picnic supper and use nearby picnic tables and charcoal grills.
Cherry Springs State Park at 4639 Cherry Springs Road, Coudersport, Pa. 16915 is 12 miles from Galeton via West Branch Road and 15 miles from Coudersport via Route 44.
All stargazing and other programs will be cancelled if it rains or thunders.
