Malizia to appear on Republican ballot for Cameron County DA

EMPORIUM — It appears former Cameron County district attorney Paul Malizia will be on the Republican ballot in November for the DA seat.

Unofficial results indicate that Malizia received 545 votes, compared to the 379 votes that current district attorney Jeanne Miglicio netted.

While no one ran on the Democratic ticket, 193 write-in votes were reported. If any one person received at least 100 write-in votes, that person will appear as the Democratic candidate in the general election.
