EMPORIUM — It appears Cameron County voters will see the following candidates on the ballot for commissioner at the November general election: Democrats Phil Jones and Ann M. Losey and Republicans Lori J. Reed and James Moate.
The outcomes are based on unofficial results.
Challengers for the race for two Republican nominations were Reed, who took 669 votes; Moate, 333; Jeff Snell, 320; and Mike T. Stuaglicio 136.
Vying for two Democratic nominations were Jones, who took 258 votes; Losey, 237; and Jim Thomas, 181.
Reed, Jones and Thomas are the current commissioners.
While both parties brought in a large number of write-in votes — 94 Democratic and 80 Republican — it was not enough to impact the general election.
