A Bradford man is in McKean County Jail after allegedly selling crack cocaine twice this month in Bradford City.
Alex M. Ita, 32, of 340 Langmaid Lane, was arraigned Monday night before District Judge Dominic Cercone on two counts each of possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance, felonies; criminal use of a communication facility, third-degree felonies; and possession of a controlled substance, misdemeanors.
The charges were filed after an investigation into illegal crack cocaine delivery in Bradford City, District Attorney Stephanie Vettenburg-Shaffer reported.
Detectives charged the defendant with delivering 7.4 grams and 4.7 grams of crack cocaine, respectively, on two separate dates between May 8 and Monday in the City, Shaffer said in a press release.
Ita allegedly made the sales to a confidential informant with the McKean County Drug Task Force, which was assisted in the investigation by officers from Bradford City and Bradford Township police departments, Shaffer said.
Ita is incarcerated in lieu of $50,000 bail and he is set to appear in Central Court on May 30.
“Illegal drug activity remains a primary focus of law enforcement across the county,” Shaffer said.
She asked anyone who suspects illegal drug activity to contact the McKean County Drug Task Force at the District Attorney’s Office at 887-3312 or MCDTFtip@gmail.com.
