On Thursday, the YMCA of the Twin Tiers announced an internal reorganization that better aligns its leadership team with its strategic plan to optimize its services and better serve local communities.
With emphasis on its four core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility, the not-for-profit 501©3 hopes to grow its programming which builds healthy spirit, mind and body for all.
“We are pleased to make changes within our team,” said Barb Sweitzer, CEO. “Along with the excitement of new opportunities and growth comes the need to manage that growth responsibly. Our goal is to have the right people in the right place with the right policies, practices and procedures implemented to strengthen the communities we love.”
Leading this organizational progression, Kristen Tim has recently been named senior executive director of branch operations leading day-to-day business practices at the Olean, N.Y., and Bradford YMCAs.
Tim said, “I am thrilled to be a part of this evolution YMCA of the Twin Tiers. We have a very strong and dedicated team, and the implementation of our internal reorganization is a testament to the flexibility of our group. We are reinventing ourselves as we shift focus back to what sets the YMCA apart from other health centers. Strengthening community is our cause. We work with our friends and neighbors to ensure everyone has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive.”
Christie Thornton has assumed the role of associate executive director at the Olean YMCA. Thornton brings six years of YMCA experience to her new assignment. Most recently she led the YMCA of the Twin Tiers’ 2019 Annual Campaign, which has raised more than $438,000 to date.
Taylor Lubi has accepted the associate executive director position at the Bradford YMCA. With 15 years of experience within the YMCA, Lubi has extensive programming and procedural knowledge, which will help the YMCA of the Twin Tiers improve its services and offerings.
Brent Raabe has been named the new director of association advancement. In his new role, Raabe will be responsible for the organization’s financial development with a focus on reinforcing the Y’s relationships with community members and partners.
Leading the YMCA’s child care efforts is Mary Burns, senior executive director of child care services. Burns’ background of over 20 years with the YMCA ensures strong guidance and support will be provided to staff and volunteers who focus on developing youth in enrolled in the YMCA’s two Early Learning Centers and seven afterschool program locations.
