SHINGLEHOUSE — Former Shinglehouse resident and Oswayo Valley English teacher Rusty McCracken will appear for an author reading at 6 p.m. May 21 at the Oswayo Valley Memorial Library.

McCracken recently published his first book, titled “Waiting for the Comeback.” The book of faith, family, fiction and other thoughts is available in paperback at Amazon and Barnes and Nobles.com and will be ready as an e-book in the near future. McCracken taught at Oswayo Valley from 1992-2005 and participated as boys’ basketball coach, senior class and school newspaper advisor for several years.

“It will be fun to share some of the stories and thoughts from my book with former colleagues and students who helped launch my teaching career,” said McCracken. “I started many of the stories while at OV, and who knows, my friends may find a little bit of themselves indirectly mentioned or as characters among the pages.”
