Pennsylvania state police have announced two upcoming child passenger safety seat checkpoints, one in Coudersport and one in Emporium.
The goal of the Click It or Ticket Campaign is to increase safety belt and child safety seat use rates throughout the commonwealth.
Coudersport-based state police said the department, along with the Coudersport Volunteer Ambulance Association, will sponsor a check point from 1 to 5 p.m. May 15 at the Coudersport Volunteer Ambulance Hall, 122 E. 2nd St.
In Emporium, Emporium-based state police will conduct a check event from 3 to 7 p.m. May 22 at the Emporium Volunteer Fire Department, 421 N. Broad St. No appointment is necessary.
Participants at either event are asked to bring their child safety seats, vehicle manuals and child safety seat instructions. Each check should take approximately 30 minutes per seat.
Anyone who has questions, needs directions to the check point or who cannot make the date and would like a seat checked can contact either barracks. Call the Emporium barracks at 486-3321 and ask for Troopers John Whitcomb, Seth Fragale or Matthew Salisbury; or call the Coudersport barracks at 274-8690.
