The Bradford YMCA Early Learning and Child Care Center has received Keystone STAR 4 Accreditation.
Five years ago the agency made the decision to move the Early Learning and Child Care Center closer to the main branch in an effort to increase the number of children they could serve in the community.
Today they continue to grow in the eyes of the Early Learning Community.
Keystone STARS is a rating system that offers families a way to evaluate the quality of child care programs. It informs parents that their children are in a safe, respectful environment in which they learn new things daily to support their current and future successes in school and life.
Administrators at the Y said the Early Learning and Child Care Facility is more than just a child care center. The program is also located in a curriculum-based facility, using Highscope curriculum. The teachers create and implement lesson plans for ages 6 weeks through 5 years.
Close proximity to the main branch allows the children to utilize the Y’s Adventure Center and gymnasium. Preschoolers take part in weekly swim lessons, as well.
Stacie Titus, 21st Century Child Care director, said, “The quality standards set by Keystone STARS guide our dedicated staff and strengthen our child care team as we nurture children and provide them with the knowledge and skills needed when they enter a kindergarten classroom.”
